In October 2025, the Vietnam Bureau of Accreditation (BoA) conducted its annual surveillance and assessment at the acoustic testing laboratory of the Institute of Development and Application for Sound Materials (DASM).
This comprehensive evaluation was carried out by a team of BoA experts over a two-day period, covering both technical performance and management systems in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025:2017 – the globally recognized standard for testing and calibration laboratories.
The surveillance process aims to verify that DASM’s laboratory continuously maintains a robust quality management system, ensures traceability of measurement results, and demonstrates technical competence across all registered testing methods.
BoA experts thoroughly examined the laboratory’s documentation, calibration records, testing procedures, and environmental conditions, as well as the skills and qualifications of DASM’s engineers and technicians.
This periodic evaluation not only confirms DASM’s compliance with international standards but also serves as an opportunity for continuous improvement—refining internal processes, updating measurement equipment, and enhancing the reliability of acoustic testing results.
As a result, DASM continues to meet all the technical and quality management requirements to retain its VILAS accreditation, reaffirming its position as Vietnam’s first and only accredited acoustic testing laboratory.
