1. Test target and subjects
– Target
Determinate single numerical quantities for impact sound insulation in buildings and floors.
Give rules for determining these quantities from the results of measurements made in the one-third octave range according to ISO 10140-3 and ISO 16283-2, and in the octave range according to that option in ISO 16283-2 for field measurement indicators.
Determinate single numerical quantities for impact sound reduction of floor coverings and floating floors calculated from the results of measurements carried out in accordance with ISO 10140-3.
Specify a procedure for evaluating the reduction in negative pressure due to the impact of floor coverings on light floors.
A number appropriate to this document is intended to evaluate impact sound insulation and to simplify the development of acoustic requirements in building codes. Evaluation of an additional number in steps of 0.1dB is indicated where necessary for the expression of uncertainty (except for spectral adaptation terms). The numeric values of a numeric quantity are specified as necessary for the calculation.
Evaluation of the measurements over the extended frequency range is given in Annex A.
The method for obtaining single quantities for bare heavy floors according to their performance when combined with floor coverings is given in Appendix B.
Examples of calculations of numerical quantities are given in Appendix C.
