The Institute of Development and Application for Sound Materials (DASM) is proud to be a pioneer in materials acoustic test, noise survey and evaluation, acoustic consulting and design, sound design and simulation, control noise vibration, etc.

Featured project: Noise measurement and acoustic barrier commissioning at a Japanese factory in Thai Binh

As part of a continuous cooperation, DASM was invited by a leading Japanese manufacturing enterprise based in Thai Binh Province to perform the commissioning of an acoustic barrier system – designed to control sound from the chiller area – after completing the initial phase of environmental noise measurement and analysis.

Phase 1: Initial noise measurement and analysis at the chiller area

In the first stage, DASM conducted comprehensive noise measurements at various locations surrounding the chiller systems. Using internationally certified equipment, the DASM team collected acoustic data to determine the existing noise levels. The results provided a scientific basis for the enterprise to develop effective mitigation solutions.

Phase 2: Commissioning of the installed acoustic solution

After the acoustic barriers were installed, DASM was invited to evaluate and validate the effectiveness of the solution. This commissioning process served several key purposes:

  • Verifying that the system performs according to design and expectations.
  • Ensuring the work environment complies with relevant regulations.
  • Providing documentation for internal and regulatory reporting.

Technical standards applied by DASM

DASM adheres strictly to national and international standards to ensure accuracy, consistency, and legal compliance:

🔹 TCVN 3985:1999

Vietnamese Standard on Permissible Noise Levels in the Workplace

Defines acceptable occupational noise limits to protect workers’ hearing and long-term health.

🔹 QCVN 26:2010/BTNMT

National Technical Regulation on Environmental Noise

Used to assess noise impact on the external environment and surrounding areas.

🔹 TCVN 7878-1:2008 (ISO 1996-1:2003)
