On the morning of May 10, 2022, at the office of the Institute, a signing ceremony of the Strategic Cooperation Agreement took place between the Institute of Development and Application for Sound Materials – DASM and INNO Joint Stock Company. This event marks the collaboration between the two entities in the fields of sound design, measurement, sound quality verification for materials and buildings, and providing sound treatment solutions for specialized projects with high global standards.
Attending the signing ceremony on behalf of the Institute of development and application for sound materials was Dr. Vu Viet Dung – Director of the Institute. On behalf of INNO Joint Stock Company, Mr. Nguyen Tuan Ngoc – Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the company; along with leaders of the departments of both organizations, were present.
DASM Acoustic Laboratory – The First VILAS-Certified Acoustic Laboratory in Vietnam
Over the years, alongside the development of the economy and society in general, scientific and technological advancements, and the construction materials industry in particular, building standards have become increasingly stringent to meet the ever-higher quality of life of people.
One of the main factors directly affecting the quality of life and receiving increasing attention is the issue of “noise.” Both International and Vietnamese building standards have specific regulations for most spaces used in buildings. However, the professional and scientific design and sound treatment of buildings are still largely neglected in the Vietnamese market and have not been adequately invested in.
According to actual surveys, very few domestic projects integrate professional acoustic solutions from the design stage. Typically, projects are treated with patchwork acoustic solutions, borrowed from existing projects, without proper measurement or real-site survey, leading to low sound performance. When measurement, consultation, and design are done, they are often carried out by foreign companies, resulting in high costs and recommendations for using imported soundproofing and noise reduction materials, which are also costly. Many projects, despite being treated by famous foreign companies, still fail to meet the required acoustic quality, resulting in noise, audio interference, or echoing in rooms. Addressing and fixing these issues can often be complex and expensive.
After nearly two years of research and preparation, in 2021, the Institute for the Development and Application for sound materials was established with the goal of providing services such as noise surveys, sound measurements, acoustic treatment solutions, testing, and verifying the acoustic quality of materials and buildings.
The Institute of development and application for sound materials is the first specialized unit in Vietnam focusing on this relatively new field – researching, developing, designing, and applying acoustic materials. To research and develop 100% domestically produced soundproofing and noise-reduction materials and provide customers with comprehensive quality solutions in sound design, testing, measurement, verification, and construction, The Institute of development and application for sound materials has fully invested in the most advanced equipment and built world-class laboratories.
With shared goals, vision, and development orientation to provide optimal solutions to enhance building acoustic quality, improve the quality of life, and save costs for customers, INNO Joint Stock Company and the Institute of development and application for sound materials have discussed and reached a Strategic Cooperation Agreement to combine the strengths both parties possess.
The cooperation marks a significant event and serves as the first step in establishing a new field that is not unfamiliar globally but is still quite unfamiliar to the design and construction consulting market in Vietnam.
It is hoped that the cooperation between DASM – a professional unit for acoustic solutions, and INNO – one of the leading design consulting companies in Vietnam, will create professional acoustic consulting services and high-quality projects that achieve the best acoustic performance
